Hammarsdale Developing for the Future - R6,5 Bn Keystone Park Precinct

The new fully serviced and managed R6.5b Keystone Park Light Industrial, Warehousing and Logistics Precinct is currently being developed by Keystone Park CC directly adjacent the Hammarsdale Interchange on the N3 National Route and immediately south of the regional MR385 link into Hammarsdale/Mpumulanga.

The total area of the development site is approximately 152 hectares and the ongoing extensive bulk earthworks operation, involving the eventual movement of up to 4.5 million cubic meters of earth, will result in approximately 100 hectares or 1,000,000 square metres of developable platforms.

"This strategic project will generate substantial employment opportunities in the impoverished Hammarsdale/Mpumulanga region with the site works, resulting in up to 3500 temporary construction jobs at construction peak, while approximately 6,500 permanent employment opportunities will have been created at height of operation of the new Precinct. Tens of thousands of associated service related and/or spin-off employment opportunities will also be generated and/or sustained by this significant regional catalytic development." says SiVEST Design Engineer, Gary Visser.

Development activities commenced in January 2015 and Bulk Earthworks in March of the same year. To date, several large National Retail Distribution Centres have been or are currently being established on site. It is expected that the bulk earthworks platforming and infrastructure installation will be complete by the end of 2018 with top structure facility development expected to continue for several years.

All ISO 9001:2008 certificates will be invalid from September 2018 . "Companies are advised to get ahead of the September rush to comply, as auditors are expected to be fully booked from around mid-year 2018" says Sarah.
